Especially given Xuxa's Brazilian version of the show, where there were lots of sparklies involved.
Ok--your comments on Mila were almost exactly what I secretly think about me. And isn't that also why I liked Maya, and forgive her blips, because she's the sweeter version? Another alternate universe?
When I see Mila I think that's how I could have been given a particular career path and life direction. It still could be, actually. But while that's why you don't like her, that's also why I sympathize with her. I don't especially care for her style, but I feel like we might be friends. She might still be my future.
It has never been more obvious that you are my sister! :)
I agree completely with you about Emilio, and the issue of excitement. It did make me go back to look at the collections of the people that made it online, though, and I do want to see their pieces in motion. I'm feeling very blah about this week's home visits. I don't care enough, I guess.
My word: inonolo. An epithet for a particularly ignorant person. As of today.Abshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04252591191993842032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19931766.post-27938221138653529532010-04-10T10:04:17.643-05:002010-04-10T10:04:17.643-05:00I had totally forgotten about Xuxa and your long-a...I had totally forgotten about Xuxa and your long-ago affection for her. Wow! She's kind of a proto-Lady Gaga. I wonder if Lady Gaga has ever had Xuxa in mind, consciously or not.

Emilio has become a conceited stinker in my mind, but somehow he has tallied up a lot of wins and some nicely constructed and flattering looks. Eh bien. If he can't become more gracious and discreet, he'll pay the price after Project Runway. No one -really- important will want to work with him.

Mila's ensemble: tacky. Just tacky. Reminded me of 1980s dance recital wear for some reason. Jay's look was richer, more subtle. His vision has been less consistent than Mila's, but I find Mila's consistent vision pretty flat, boring, and unflattering. Oh, I hope Jay brings it for the tiebreaker. (Tyyybraykerrrrr! as Mila would trumpet to the waiting room.)

I think part of why I can't stand Mila is because she makes me think of...me, but in an unpleasant alternate universe where I'm only a grim, harshly macquillaged, self-satisfied yet frustrated fortysomething know-it-all. And my jesting attempts are ALL ill-timed and not really funny.

Anyway, it was difficult for me to buy into the excitement of seeing who'd be "going to Bryant Park" because weren't there, like, ten or twelve people showing collections for Project Runway? They needed a lot of decoys because this season was so far behind. Some very early losers still got money to make a dream collection, and went to Bryant Park and won a lot of exposure.

-SECP

The word I had to type to post this entry was cool: "decidice." It should mean a woman who makes the decisions in a group. Or a particularly decisive woman.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
