Canon support guy, whoever you were, thank you for your patient and smart assistance, and for explaining the problem to me when I asked, when I couldn't get Camera Window to start.

And FYI--the manner in which Stirf does everything could be classified as saucy.
you know I bought a camera last week and it had to be shipped-and all I remembered from the model name was sd450. when I opened it last night and saw 'elph' I was like hey...I think abby and I have the same camera. and indeed we do. yay for both of us, and new spiffy cameraness.
